Message: Here is the address to my photos, only the last 6 are after the body lift. I still have the original meats on there. I tried to take some pictures of the frame so that people who were wondering what it is like can see. The frame doesn't bother me, not my first truck with a body lift, although I am going to try and get some nerf bars to hide it a little bit....If you think about it, now it just looks like a stock Chevy with that much frame showing, especially a HD Silverado.

Message: Nice looking truck there Matt. Are you going to keep the stock tires or are you going to go bigger? Nice job on the intake too.

Message: I am planning on getting some new tires as soon as I figure out which ones I like and what size. I have been leaning towards Kelly Safari MSRs 285/75/16, but also did some research and found out that Bridgestone Dueler MTs rated the best out of 15 tires that were tested or rated by customers on tirerack.com. I have also been toying with the size of 255/85/16, almost a half inch taller, an inch thinner, and usually about $40 cheaper per tire. I just don't know how good or goofy my truck would look with skinny tires.

Message: Nice job Matt! I don't think it looks too bad with the stockers on there, but with bigger tires it would look even better! I think it would look better with the 285's because skinny tires don't look so good on a 'big' truck. Kinda out of proportion, you know?

Message: The lift looks great Matt. I don't see too many RC lifted Daks out there. I just put a PA 3" body lift on my '01 RC. I kept the factory wheels and put 285/75/16 BFG A/T's on them. The truck looks a lot better with them. Here is the link to some pictures I took with the lift and new tires, hope they help with your decision!

Message: Went to the tire shop yesterday.
1. Kelly Safari MSRs 285/75/16 - $207ea
2. Delta Mud Trac 285/75/16 - $154ea
I know the owner of the shop and he wasn't there, so I can get a better deal than that.
discounttiredirect.com
1. Goodyear Wrangler MTR 285/75/16 - $168ea
2. Yokohama Geolander MT 285/75/16 - $158ea
3. Goodyear Wrangler MTR 305/70/16 - $190ea
All include free shipping
As if I wasn't having a hard enough time deciding. Now I have to figure out size and tire to get.
MP01DAK - Do you have any rubbing with your tires, or did you have to trim with those size tires?

Message: Matt- On very sharp turns there is a little rubbing with the tires, I think they are hitting the lift lips. We did cut them a little at first because there was a lot more rubbing. So far, it hasn't been a major issue, just occasionally pulling into a narrow parking space.
2THEXTRM- The cap is an Astro CR1800 series. I really wanted something that matched the truck. I got it at a place called Cap World. They sell a lot of different accessories for trucks. I found a picture of a Ram with the same model cap as mine:
http://www.capworld.com/TruckCapsLids/Astro/1800.htm
Over the summer I usually take the cap off. I can't wait to see how it looks now with the new lift! I'll have to take more pictures. Hey 2THEXTRM, did you say that you put 35's on your truck with a 3"body/1.5"block lift? That sounds cool, are block lifts difficult to install? They aren't too expensive, right?

Message: I'll have to check around for that brand of cap near me, I like the full length glass and was thinkin of one for the wives Red RC 4x4 Dak like yours. How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?
The 35's are actually going on this spring after I install the 3" Rancho lift when they ship them out. I am running 33x12.50's on 8" rims with 5" backspacing right now with the body and block lift, I have zero rubbing even when bottoming out front suspension while turning(done that:), I have did no trimming at all even using the rims that stick out around 1/2" further than stockers. The block lift is not that hard at all as long as you have jackstands on flat ground with a good breaker bar to loosen the factory u-bolt bolts. The block lift just allowed me to crank up the t-bars most of the way and get more overall height for cheap, around $75 for blocks and custom made u-bolts. Any other questions, just let me know.

Message: The cap was about $1200 installed. It's all fiberglass and there is an LED third brake light on the outside above the hatch. There is also a small (kinda ceap) interior light that comes with it. Keep your eyes open for printable coupons from wherever you decide to get it. I saw a lot of places doing that.

Message: Here's pics of my quad cab lifted with 33's. I went with 305/70/16 G/Y Wrangler AT/S and am very happy with them. Have a look at these tires in this size, they are way more aggressive than the smaller sizes. The cap is a Raider Nomad.

Message: I have been thinking of getting a cap for mine. My neighbor works for Leer and they have a program that allows them to make and sell them. I can get any new Leer shell for $750, all options that I want minus the roof rack, but I wouldn't want that anyway. Anyone in Nor Cal who wants a Leer shell let me know. I don't get anything for it, but you could get a great deal.
