Subject: 2wd Lifting IP: Logged
Message: Hello i just recently moved to Colorado and have a 2001 4.7 extended cab 2wd. I'm an avid fisherman and would like to TOUGHen up my dakota just a little to get to those better fishing holes.. I was thinking of getting a 3inch body lift and then some bigger tires ( I don't know much about vehicles). I'm not looking to make my dakota run over anything, just to raise it a little and have better traction. Any tips, info, links, ANYTHING will help. Thanks you
Dodge 4 life,
chris

Message: 2" or 3" body lift:$150 / installation:unknown but not hard to do yourself. basic tools
(2" lift)- longer coils:$130 or spacers $80 Installation: $150-200
you can add tougher shocks but do not have to.
(3" front lift and 1.5" rear lift) - longer coils, A-Arms, add a leaf for leaf springs:$600 installation: $600-1200 I'm not really sure(New wheels required)

Message: DEPENDING ON THE QUALITY OF THE TRAILS THE 2 INCH COIL SPACERS MAY NOT BE THE BEST CHOICE BECAUSE THEY LIFT THE TRUCK 3 INCHES. AND YUR SUSPENSION ONLY HAS LIKE AN INCH OF DOWNWARD TRAVEL.
INSTALL FOR A BODY LIFT WOULD BE 500-600.00 JUST BECAUSE IT TAKES A WHILE TO DO BUT ITS NOT HARD TO DO.
