Subject: ? ON A 3IN. BODY LIFT IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 2wd v6 dakota. I am planning on having a 3 in. body lift done but have heard different opinions about it. Is having it done to my v6 2wd going to cause a lot of problems and maintenance? Because I am mostly going for the look and not taking it off-road too much. What tire size and brand are best? Please reply

Message: The beauty about a body lift is that there's nothing mechanical done. It doesn't affect your ride at all and maintenance is the same as before. Almost everyone on here that has one likes it, including me!
As for tires, I'm running BFG All-Terrain's - a good all around tire, in my opinion.

Message: Thanx for your reply. Im glad to hear there is not much maintenance. What size is best for a 3 inch lift to where its not too much tire or too little tire for the lift? Any suggestions?

Message: I can't remember what size of tires can fit on a 2wd dak. but I'm sure if you do a search you can find some info. I think I've heard of guys fitting 265's or 31's on their 2wd's with the 3" lift, but don't quote me on that being the best size.

Message: I just put a 3" (performance accesories) body lift on my 2wd Dak. The next day I got 31x10.5x15 Goodyear Wrangler MTR. WOW!!! It looks great, and the tires fit perfect. I have turned the wheels to full lock and there was no rubbing at all. I have a buddy that is pretty heavy into off road, and other truck mods, and he's seems to think I could have "easily" gone to a 32s. I don't know about those, but I do know the 31s will fit. I highly recomend the MTR. Great tire, good look (kinda spendy, but worth it).
