Message: Ive got a 2WD with the Fabtech kit. I cut a little of that black liner at first to stop rubbing the tire, but now that the kit has had time to settle, it is rubbing again. I was wondering if it would be harmful to take out the liner. I dont go offroad much, and if I were, I would be sure to wash the engine bay out and all. Also, has anyone cut any metal out behind the wheel? I dont wanna hurt the tire if I were to hit a bump while turned (did already, bad, bad noise...). Or should I just go with a 2" body lift?
Thanks!

Message: Don't take off the wheel-well liner. Its much better to cut the lower part of it then get rid of it, plus it would look bad. I had to cut about an inch to 2 inches off mine and its finally better. If you do it right it doesn't look bad and I'm able to keep the liner in. I also had to cut some metal in the rear as well and it doesn't hurt anything. I think I cut about 1/2 an inch (or just before the bolt) and that seemed to work.
I just installed my Fabtech kit last week, I was wondering how long it took yours to settle?

Message: I installed mine in March.. so about 6-8 months or so. The front is still a little higher than the back, but not as noticable than when I first put it in.

Message: Hey Ray, I've got the 3" Fabtech lift, 2" coil spacer and 3" body lift while running 33x12.50R15 tires. I had to cut about 3" up from the bottom of the liner side closest to the cab and then along a tapered line starting at .5" down to 1" along the front bumper. I started out by cutting a little at a time and then drove around normally to find where my limitations are. I finally found a happy medium and used the specs listed above. I haven't rubbed in over a month and I DO take my Quad Cab off road, so these tollerances are probably the max you'll need. As far as cutting into the bottom of the front fender (side closest the cab), I hacked as far back as about .5" from the bolt that mounts the fender to the cab. As soon as I mount the fiberglass fenders, there shouldn't be any problem. Since there seems to be alot of people asking about cutting their fenders lately, I'm going to post some pics on my site of what I had to do. Good luck!

Message: QUAD2NV - I would think that you could fit your front flares on pretty easy now. I thought mine wouldn't fit, then I got brave and hacked a few corners off and it works great! The best part is it doesn't look nearly as bad as I thought it would. You have to cut above the lower bolt, but the flare still seems tight and doesn't move. Plus, the flare is helping alot now with rocks!

Message: i was wondering if fiberglass fenders would eliminate the need to cut anything off when running a 3'' fabtech and 3'' body lift with 33'' tires..

Message: To answer your question SDsurf, I'm getting fiberglass fenders from Fabtech. At SEMA, they insisted to me that you'd be able to run 32's with only their 3" suspension lift and no body lift. Of course, their ad also says you can run 32's with only the 3" suspension....ya right!
Tallquad, since I'm getting the fiberglass, I didn't want to waste (or cut) the flares just to take them off again. Did you cut out as much fender as I did (when I showed you at the shop)?
We need to get together for some pics, just let me know.

Message: I stopped by a few times a while ago, but I guess you were out of town or something. I was excited to get those front flares on and wanted to show you. I'll have to stop by again so we can take some pics!! Yours is probably still higher than mine (w/coil spacers and shackles) but I'm glad I am able to run 33's, adding that extra 2" seemed like a custom job. Good thing you have shop and hook-ups to do your stuff!!
I don't remember how much you trimmed off your fenders (it looked little to me) but I know mine still needs some cosmetic work so it all looks even. I guess we will know soon enough!
When are you gonna be in this week? I'll stop by!

Message: Tallquad, give me a call (the shop # is 602-688-6260, I get messages even if I'm not there). We're changing some things at the shop, mainly the paint guy is evicted! So we'll have to meet up for the pics, I live by the Pointe in Ahwatukee and South Mountain Park is the best place for pics with the desert right there. Just let me know.
