Message: Does anyone know which nerf bars I need to buy that can be mounted 3" higher to go with my body lift? The Westin's I have now bolt to the frame body mounts and can't be raised any.

Message: I`m pretty sure you are going to have to get some custom brackets made and use the ones you have somehow. I haven`t found any that are already made for a Dak with a body lift.
I had a Toy before the Dodge and Smittybuilt offered the nerf bars with or without a body lift , but the last time I checked their site , I didn`t find and for the Daks with a B.L.

Message: I researched the hell out of this subject before I ended up with Manik full-length Nerfs. They mount to frame directly and I added 3" box plate between upper and lower brackets to put the steps back where they belong right under the body. You can see pics of the install on my yahoo photo album: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/realbobolama/lst?.dir=/My+Dak

Message: Thanks guys, since someone's already bought mine off of me, I guess I'll copy Bob and give the Manik full-lengths a try.

Message: I'm also thinking about getting a body lift but I'll want something to cover the frame up.
What about Westin?? I was just surfing some of the online catalog sites and the description one of the dealer had said for the Westin product:
"Customized mounting brackets for each application ensures easy installation and a perfect fit."
Wouldn't this mean it could be adjusted to fit under a truck with 3" body lift without modification??
I don't know anything about nerfs so I could be way off. Just trying to come up with more than one option.

Message: The Westins are not customizable like the Manik's(frame mount) since they mount underneath body mounts and stay at factory position after body lift blocks are installed on top of body mount. I tried to rig up a way to make them work but no real solid way for them to still be useful and not look cobbed up so I just sold them to buy the Manik's. They took me about 2-3 hours to install once I figured out what needed to be done. A little bit of cutting and welding and it looks like I bought them that way as well as being just as strong as they would be on a stock Dak.

Message: I have some friends with toy's and they just weld em up to the frame after they do there body lifts.
don't know if that will work with a dak though.

Message: Mine are frame mounted too. I had to torch off the mounts and fabricate some new ones. I've been told that smittybuilts can be adjusted (or easily modified) to be lifted up 3"
