How large of tires will fit on a 2002 4x4 dakota with factory 16" wheels? There does`nt seem to be very much extra room in front fender well.

I don`t believe anyone on here has that new of a truck.Everyones 01 or older, but cool that you can afford one.I believe 265/70`s are standard and theres really not enough room on front to go bigger.A 3" lift would probably let you get 285/75`s under it but don`t crank up torsion bars.Causes wear on front end.Would`nt do it unless I had an older truck.

Dakt, seems you need 3" lift (either body or suspension) to get 33"s under there. If your '02 has 265x70x16's (tire & handling upgrade pkg) then you can't really go any bigger without some type of lift or new front bumper. A couple of guys out there were able to put 33's on with no lift by replacing the front bumper with one that allows more clearance, but this doesn't leave much room. I also have an '02 4x4 and have been anxiously awaiting the Rancho 3" suspension lift (although I'm not quite sure I'm ready to spend the $1500+).

I have a 2000 dodge Dakota and i figure it is the same as the 2002. Well I am running 16 American Racing Baja rims with Procomp Xterian 305/75/16. I had mioning fendering rubbing and has to do some triming. But thats what you are looking at.

I did a 1" torsion bar lift to level truck. Had the front end alignment checked and it was dead on with no ajustment. Tires are wearing evenly. I'm currently running 31x11.5x16 Super Swamper LTBs with no lift other than the torsion bars. These are about 3/4" taller and 1.5" wider than stock 265x70x16 Goodyears. Lock to lock with no rubbing. They only rub under a lot of articulation while 4 wheeling and that is very minimal. Tires look awesome (there is about a 2" separation between lugs) but are wearing fast and are very loud (which I like).
