I have had just about enough of this waiting game. It has been two years since I bought my '00 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4, and still no "reputable" company has made a lift for it. I tend to get impatient, and it has taken some real work for me to wait two years already. Enough is enough, maybe I need to go test drive a Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4x4, or a Tacoma Double Cab 4x4.
Fabtech has an AWESOME 6" lift for the Ford.
Everyone has a 2" to 3" lift for the Tacoma, ProComp has a 4" lift, and TrailDisaster has a 6" lift. But for the Dodge Dakota ... NOTHING!
This sucks. Come on manufacturers, pull your heads out of your asses.

Check out the whiplash 10 in. lift for your truck
at www.whiplashperformance.org they make really
good lifts but it will cost you about 2500 bucks
but thats cheaper then tradeing in your truck to
buy a yota or f

That is why I said no "reputable" companies make a lift for the Dakota. Whiplash has a pretty bad reputation, and I would not consider their lift to be an option.

What was that I said about being inpatient? I just made my first non-mopar automobile purchase in ten years.
I bought a Toyota Double Cab 4x4 two days ago. It has the 3.4 L V-6, and the TRD Off-Road Package. I had the dealer install the TRD supercharger before I took it off the dealers lot. We still have the Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 (and the 3500 Quad Cab 4x4 Cummins diesel). Why do I need three pickup trucks ... ? I keep asking my self that.
Just a few comparisons between the Toyota and the Dakota, if anyone is interested.
The Dakota is quieter on the highway, with less wind noise and road noise than the Toyota.
Power is ~ pretty much equal overall. When we drag raced our supercharged 3.4 liter Tacoma against our 5.9 Dakota, the Tacoma won each and every time, up to 75 mph that is. At about 75 mph the 3.55 geared Dakota reels in the 4.10 geared Tacoma, and passes it like it is sitting still. I don't know the distances involved, and which one would be ahead at the end of a quarter mile.
We bought the Tacoma in Phoenix, and got 20.8 mpg during the 485 mile drive home. I just looked at the trip computer on the Dakota, and in the 1573 miles since the computer has been reset we have gotten an average of 12.8 mpg. 75% of these miles have been highway miles.
Off-road the Tacoma blows away the Dakota, primarily because of the electric locking rear differential.
And the best part, aftermarket products are available for the Tacoma. Tomorrow I will order a 4" suspension lift.

Hey, at least you kept the Dakota. It bugs me that I can't get a susp lift for my truck, but sure doesn't bug me enough that I'd go buy a toy! To each his own, I guess. Have fun!

I know what you mean !!!!! I was at the local 4wheelpart store picking up a new tire. While I was there I was checking out a new Chevy truck. They had just finished adding a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires and rims!!!! The truck looked so sweeeeet. After seen that truck it had crossed my mine to trade my truck in.

Dodge trucks are crap, thats why no one bothers with akit for it. My 4x4 F-150 on 36x14.50R16's would crawl right over one. Buy either a Ford, Chevy or Toyota. Friends do not let friends drive dodges!
