njquad2by, you gave me a link to jcwhitney for coil spacers, but what year of ram do I look for? Im assuming the 94' because isnt that when they redid the body style and gave it ifs? My dakota is a 89' so i just wanted to make sure.

Excuse my earlier post, I went back and re-read the jcwhitney site and understand a little bit more. But now my question is this, will it give me 2" lift or 2" spacer? I want the 2" spacer for 3" of lift. where would I find that at? the spacer listed under the dakota at jcwhitney im assuming is the 1.5" spacer?

Thanks Jeff for the website of yours. I just got done ordering my spacers. I got the 3in susp by fabtech so I guess we'll see if they can work together.

jason, you may want to try the 1.5inch spacer the 2inch will most likely not work with the fabtech, atleast I've been told it won't.
do a search for quad2nv he has a site were he stated what spacer he used with his fabtech lift.

can't use both , quad2nv is full of it if he did , cause you only have about 3/4" up travel on the a arm before you top off, if you put the spacer , you'll gain a 3/4 inch lift and you'll be hitting the upper a arm topping off all the time will make noise and will be stiff as heck , in short you'll just be compressibg the spring .................

Well according to QUAD2NV's website. He used the 2" daystar spacers, so is he a liar or does it actually work, or did he only get 3/4" lift like rivermaniac said and he doesn't know any better. Can't hurt nothing to throw em in and find out.

go to your truck and if you have the fabtech lift look at how much space you have from the upper control arm stop to the spring housing ( nipple ) your trucks not hers .........There's only about 3/4 to 1/2 you could fit a finger in between , that's all the lift you'll get think about it , you have so much space and you already fit a longer spring in there , now you're putting something else to expand the space .......................

I found the Rough County coil spacer kit here.
It comes with:
2" Coil Spacers
Rough Country Add-a-leafs
4 Heckethorn shocks
They have kits for 94-02 Ram 1500, which I think will work
for the newer Dakotas as well. You might want to check
with them to make sure.

Just thought I'd clarify a few things...
Up travel is compression travel. When running a lift spring and a spring spacer you'll have PLENTY of up travel... what you won't have is down travel, aka DROOP or REBOUND travel. Down travel is what soaks up holes and up travel is what absorbs bumps.
On a 2wd Dakota with a Fabtech 3" kit there is almost ZERO rebound travel because the 3" lift spring almost pegs the stop on the coil bucket. The only way a 3" spring + 2" spacer will work is if the spring has sagged / settled or if it wasn't the correct spring for the application and wasn't providing the full 3" inches of lift. You cannot run a total of 5" inches of lift on the front of a 2wd Dakota without having the rebound stop smashed against the coil bucket. If you do manage to run both a 3" spring and a 2" spacer my guess is the spring isn't providing the 3" advertised lift. If you don't care about ride quality or longevity you can bolt together whatever combination you want... but at 5" inches of actual lift over stock I can guarantee it'll ride like crap.

If you run both (3" spring/A arms + any spacer)your truck will ride horrible. It will be for looks only. When you take a truck with that set up off road or even go over some railroad tracks at 50 mph your truck will top out terribly and you will finally understand what theses people are trying to warn you about. The wheels will not be able to drop down because the upper A-arm slams gainst its bumpstop(even a low profile bump stop). It will fit but no professional shop would install it for you because its whack.
