i have a 97 2wd CC. what kind of problems will have to be fixed when lifting the cab? the brake lines going from the master cyl to the frame are steel. how can the body be lited without breaking these lines? do they have to be extended? also what about other wires running throgh the firewall that connect to the frame. i really want a body lift, but i am really nervous about things like these. could someone tell me exactly what has to be modified on a 2wd

I have a 99 RC 2wd. I have a 3" body lift. The only thing I had to do was cut the bottom of the fan shroud. A stearing extention was included in the lift kit, and my bumpers were adjustable on the factory mounts. I had no problems with the brakes, or fuel lines. I don't know what differances there are between the 97 and 99 though. Good luck. You'll love the finished product.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO YOUR BRAKE LINES ON YOUR DRIVER SIDE NEAR YOUR A-ARM THEY,(BRAKE LINES)RUB AGAINST THE A-ARM CAUSING FRICTION TO WEAR A HOLE IN THE LINE!!!BEFORE YOU LIFT THE TRUCK MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE BRAKE LINES ARE LOOSENED FROM THE WHITE TABS, CONNECTED TO THE FRAME.

ONCE THE TRUCK IS LIFTED MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE THE ZIP TIES THE LIFT SUPPLIES AND ZIP TIE ALL THE LOOSE LINES TO SOMETHING CLOSE,TO PREVENT FLOPPING BRAKE LINES!YOU WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE LINE SNAPPING DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT,JUST AS LONG AS YOU LOOSEN EVERYTHING!AS FAR AS THE FIREWALL,IN MY INSTRUCTIONS THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO RELOCATE THE GROUND FROM THE FIREWALL,WELL I DIDNT HAVE TO DO THAT,SO YOU MAY NOT HAVE TO EITHER.

ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR STEERING ADAPTER IS TIGHTENED REALLY REALLY WELL!! THE REASON BEING IS IF YOU DONT YOUR STEERING WHEEEL WILL POP AND CLICK!!TRUST ME I LEARNED THE HARD WAY!!ANOTHER GOOD TIP IS TO RAISE THE TRUCK GET THE BOLTS SCREWED IN A LITTLE THEN ONE BY ONE REMOVE THEM AND APPLY LOKTITE!!I GUESS THATS ABOUT IT I GUESS ,LOL!ITS EASY TO INSTALL THE BODY LIFT,ITS JUST TIME CONSUMING!!BUT ITS VERY REWARDING WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED!!

ENJOY THE LIFT!!!
