Message: Sorry to hear about that. Fabtech sells pretty good lifts. When I got mine I went to the factory where they make'em in Diamond Bar. I was impressed. They have their s**t together. They are mostly set up for pre-runner kits. As for mine, haven't had any major problems. Only minor one was my left upper ball joint boot ripped. I just replaced the boot. Greg
Wouldn't want any other!

Message: Well, and you already know how mine is doing. I only
wish yours (Chaximus) was doing just as well. So far no
complaints. Actually, my only grip is that the suspension
isn't as good as stock for daily driving, but that was
known going into it. Other than that I think its an
excellent kit, the best on the market. I wish I could've
gone to Southern Cal to see the plant.

Message: Well, i can say the kit is a great one after realizing that my spacers and (very) frequent off-roading were what caused it to fall apart. I am getting the 589's in Jan from Papa Smurf (from this site) so that will eliminate the spacer problem. I also got new wheel bearings coming soon and i will install them myself. After that, very very rarely will i off-road because i spent more on repairs this past year than i have my entire life with my previous 3 vehicles. (eek)
I agree with Tallquad about the ride quality. It's very stiff and i kinda got used to it. I rode in my buddy's Hyundai Elantra the other day and it rode like a Lexus but of course we all would think that since we are used to the stiffness of Fabtech. Everyone says my truck's a horse carriage..haha.

Message: hey guys ............my lift is doing fine , the other day I took it offroading and was suprised how it handled , In my opinion I sort of like the stiffer ride , feels more truck like than before .............But still has a good ride , better than a friends chevy suburban .........Tall Im tempted to put the body lift and go with 33's what do you think , Why did you go to 31 's chax ????? Hope the best on your truck chax , the power on mine the 4.7 is awesome , nice torque , real smooth .......

Message: I went with 31's for a variety of reasons. One being that the suspension ride was very poor when i had 33 inch goodyear mt/r's put on. I don't know the reason for this. Secondly, i went with 31's beacause i didn't want to throw off the gears as much as 33's would. Right now my gears are "ok" since highway driving with cruise control sucks. Last, i didn't want to do any trimming so 31's fit just perfectly. (but needless to say, i am tempted to go 33's when my goodyears wear down....if they ever do)

Message: Chax... you could always run 32's... Those look great,
some thought they looked like 33's on my Jeep and
they don't rub. I actually might get some 32's just for off-
roading.
River... whats nice about the body lift is that it won't
change anything about the suspension. So your not
going to notice a difference in ride. The bad thing about
the lift is that it made the steering feel more loose due to
the added extension. Its not horrible, but its noticable.

Message: Thanks 4wDakota! I first scrolled down the page without reading and thought, "wow... thats a cool looking dakota!!"... then I realized it was mine, lol! Man I love these trucks!!
Stealwings, I was thinking of adding some kind of prerunner bar up front and in the rear, but I haven't found any that I like. I might custom design one if I ever get the time and money. I mainly want to get something to hold a pair of Hella's up front and something up top. So many toys to buy, so little money... hehe.

Message: Soo many questions, so little time. I recently bought a 99 dak reg cab 4x4. My question is concerning reliability and whether I should put a motor in my 78 Bronco (4" lift, 35" swampers, spool, winch, new tranny) or strip the Bronco and build the Dak. I keep hearing that the steering and tranny's don't hold up well to wheeling. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
