Subject: Used Tuff Country Lift Kit IP: Logged
Message: Just curious if any one would be interested in a used (slightly "abused") but still works fine TC 5.5" Lift. The only real "abused" parts are two lower bump stops and maybe the front cross member (I have to take a closer look at it when I get everything apart). The lower bump stops have been bent back a little from normal position due to rocks that were in my way, but it is still perfectly fine for use. I do know that TC sells individual replacement pieces so one wanted to replace them then you could. Also I never got the e-brake extender bracket so I don't have it. One of the front shocks will need a new bushing. Other than those items I think everything else is just perfectly fine. I am open to offers, as I haven't taken the truck apart yet to get a good look at everything, but if you are interesed then shoot me a line at ntarli0@engr.uky.edu and I will let you know what the story is at the begining of the year, when everything comes out. Also if anyone needs any front suspension parts or a rear axle (8.25") from a 98 cc 4x4 then let me know because I will need to find them a home too.
If any one is interested in this then it should be a pretty cheap lift kit compared to the brand new price. Also if you have tools, space, time and are patient, then this would really be a cheap lift (it wasn't too hard to install myself, just a long weekend).

Message: Yeah, I broke my front differential. The rear hanger on the diff, (piece of aluminum that extends up for the rear bracket) sheared along the threaded bolt opening. This caused the diff to "fall" down in the rear and put the drive shaft at a really bad position. The front driveshaft could move about 1/4" in every direction inside the housing. So there is a grand, and then if I fixed that I would have to fix the sheared shock mount (second time which really pissed me off), so there is another 800 for a new control arm and labor. So that brings me to the better, more economical solution for me...solid axle. The project begings in two weeks, and I will keep everyone informed, although I can't get too many during pictures because I will be out of town while the major changes take place (I am taking it apart and a guy I know is putting the axles in and fixing the steering, he does all kinds of custom work like this so it should look good.) I got a dana 44 up front and ford 9" in the back, sitting on coils and leaf springs. It should look real good when done...I HOPE!!
Oh well, if anyone is interested in anything just let me know. By the way my rims are already accounted for.

Message: Sorry I forgot to add that the rear axle has a limited slip in it.
