Message: My name is jeff, I have a 1996 dodge dakota 4x4.
I just put on half my lift. But i'm having trouble putting on the front. When i tried to take off the front passanger bolt it snapped in two leaving me with half of the bolt still stuck in its origional position. My question is would it be ok to drill out the bolt to a simmilar size, use the bolt supplied in the kit put it through get a nut put it in the end little lock tite and be done with it. Keep in mind i have access to the bolt from under the hood. But it it rusted in place. Please help. Also i was wondering about any other problems i might run into when lifting the cab.
Thanks a Million,
Smitty

Message: Get some PB Blaster penetrating lube.
Spray it and let it sit for 20-30 minutes then spray it again.
Do that a couple of times to make sure it soaks in real good, and then try to get the bolt out with a set of vise-grips.
The nut idea will be ok if you can have room for the nut but you'll probably need longer bolts.

Message: I was able to take off the shifting linkage and straighten "most" of the dog leg out of it. That, along with filing off all but the very last bit of the keeper area at the bottom(the mashed part that holds the adjuster on at the bottom). This gave me enough throw to hit all the gears. The indicator is off just a bit in the dash, but I know that. It probably would not pass a Maryland state inspection, but then again I am not trying to sell it either.

Message: Did you have any problems with brake lines or the stearing. And also what about the fan hitting the shroud.
