Message: Awsome dude, i also have a 03 dakota i want to do a body lift on. As of right now there kinda pricy kind of. u can go threw "performancs accesories" they have the lift but dont show it on there web site. theres also another dude on here that has done it so i know there out there. tire wise i dont know. We have a shop thats well known for doing lifts and what not and specializes in trucks. they wanted 400.00 for the lift and installation. i also asked about tires and they said that the 265's i was running were = to 31's and ive hered that most peeps on this web site run 33's which is cool but almost 99% say that they rub when they make turns and when in tight parking lots. but i also know that it cant be that bad cause there still driven around withem like that so ull have to decid on that one, hope this helps

Message: If you put 33's on the stock wheels, they don't rub with a 3 inch body lift.
285 x 75 x 16 = 33 x 11.50 x 16
305 x 70 x 16 = 33 x 12.50 x 16
I put the 285s on after a 3 inch body lift on my 2002 and it didn't rub at all. I have the premium wheels and I think they look better than most after market. The 33's don't rub with the stock wheels because they have the most backspacing available. If the tires stick out too far they will rub the fender when you turn the wheel.

Message: If you put 33x12.5's on stock wheels, they will rub the frame fairly bad. If you use a low backspacing (3.25) like I did, you will rub the fenders pretty bad. I just took a dremel and cut the bottom corners off the fenders so they wouldn't rub any more. You can't even tell they are cut unless you are up very close to the fenders and looking for it. I will try to get my hands on a digital camera so I can post some pics on here of my new setup and show you what I'm talking about with the trimming.

did you put on new tires/rims? Did you get your 3" lift done? I'd love to see what you've done. Make sure you post some pics, eh?!?

Message: Yes, I finally finished my lift and put on some Eagle Alloy 589's, and 33x12.5 BFG AT's. I'm not used to doing this type of thing, so the lift was a real pain in the ass to do, but I finally finished Wednesday. Well, I'm not quite finished. I still have to have the extension welded into the 4x4 shifter so I can shift into 4wheel drive. Right now the shifter is sunk down in the truck. I still need to get new mounts welded for my step bars so they don't hang down with the frame too. But other than that, I'm done. I can't seem to find anyone around here with a digital camera, so I guess I'm gonna have to buy one. So I should have pics up real soon.

Unless you really want to weld in the 4x4 extension I'd say just go to Home Depot and buy a coupler nut and all-thread (or a bolt works too) and extend the shifter up top. I find it was a lot easier and works just as good. I have no problems with restricted movement or anything like that. I'll go take a pic or two to show you, it's EASY!

Message: if your going to go with the 3" body lift I recomend new tires. I did a lift in a 99 and we put 32 11.5 ATs the tires look great. They still rub in sharp turns. They fit the truck great. I would recomend the trail master kit. It comes with everything but the rear bumper brackets, and neif bar brackets. Hope my input is useful. p.s. I just found this web page, and think its sweet.
