Subject: Lowering and traction...

Quick question...as we all know, these R/Ts get as good as traction as a drunk on ice...ZERO...i would like to have a lower stance but will that affect my hard take-offs...and if possible, can the use of traction bars be used with a lowering kit...my truck is pretty much stock and i'm already having problems with hooking up...no sense of adding more mods if all i'm gonna do is BBQ my rear hides...thanks for any help

Since it's a standard solid axle/leaf spring suspension, you can do pretty much anything you want. What you're trying to do is increase weight transfer to the rear. So lowering all four corners won't help you hook up. Just lowering the rear an inch or two would, but then you may upset the handeling. Some long traction bars are your best bet to start with. After that, I would get better tires. If traction is still a problem, convert to coil overs and ladder bars.
