Subject: 4.7L Gibson Headers?
IP: Logged

Message:
Has anyone used the Gibson headers for the 4.7L? I know a lot of people are using the JBAs, but the Gibsons are cheaper (still in SS) and look like they'd be slightly longer.

I just wish someone actually had some decent dyno numbers for shorty headers. So everyone would know for sure if they were worth a damn or not. And I wish someone would market some long tubes. They could sell them with a couple of free-flow cats already attached for emmisions.

I don't have any numbers for the gibsons (other than price -- Heavy 14 Gauge Nickel-Chrome Plated Steel Header $320 + shipping)--

The headers along with the HO cams, and intakes have reported good gains though.

I don't have any dyno numbers, but the Gibson headers produced the most noticeable gain from any mod I have done. The mods include Gibson Catback, HO cams, Fastman TB, and CAI.

Shorties doesn't bother me too much cause of the gearing I'm running and the 218 I'm going to. I just want to know if it's any better straight across than the JBAs. I looked at some other sites, F150 and Rustangs, and it seems most of those guys prefer the JBAs over the Gibsons who have used both.
