Subject: Exhaust for my 5.2 Dakota

Hey everyone...I was curious about exhaust for my '98 Dakota with a 318. I am seriously considering Flowmaster, but not sure exactly what series I should go with. I have a quote from a good muffler shop in town of $250 for a cat-back flowmaster system installed with chrome tips, but I don't know if I should go with a 40 or 50 series. As of now, I only have a K&N Air Filter, but plan on installing a K&N FIPK before too long. Any advice would be appreciated.

I love Flowmaster myself. If you're concerned about it being too loud, go with a 50 series. Otherwise, get the 40 series. That and the FIPK will give you a nice little boost.

might want to look into any chips or flash upgrades for your truck to, those will also make a huge differance.

Now personally i have allways found the 5.2l engines amazing sounding even with the default exhaust, throuty and mean, and when you floor those suckers you can usully turn heads and induce wiplash.

I have a 97 318 w/ JBA headers, high flow cat, and 40 series Flow's (single in/dual out). It sounds really good! My friend who races his 93 TA loves the sound even more than his car (full Arizona Speed & Marine exhaust). And I do too. The only other exhaust that I like is the 04 Hemi Gibson NASCAR style exhaust.
