Subject: Exhaust for my 5.2 Dakota IP: Logged
Message: Hey everyone...I was curious about exhaust for my '98 Dakota with a 318. I am seriously considering Flowmaster, but not sure exactly what series I should go with. I have a quote from a good muffler shop in town of $250 for a cat-back flowmaster system installed with chrome tips, but I don't know if I should go with a 40 or 50 series. As of now, I only have a K&N Air Filter, but plan on installing a K&N FIPK before too long. Any advice would be appreciated.

Message: I love Flowmaster myself. If you're concerned about it being too loud, go with a 50 series. Otherwise, get the 40 series. That and the FIPK will give you a nice little boost.

Message: might want to look into any chips or flash upgrades for your truck to, those will also make a huge differance.
Now personally i have allways found the 5.2l engines amazing sounding even with the default exhaust, throuty and mean, and when you floor those suckers you can usully turn heads and induce wiplash.

Message: I have a 97 318 w/ JBA headers, high flow cat, and 40 series Flow's (single in/dual out). It sounds really good! My friend who races his 93 TA loves the sound even more than his car (full Arizona Speed & Marine exhaust). And I do too. The only other exhaust that I like is the 04 Hemi Gibson NASCAR style exhaust.
