Subject: Intake (are you getting enough Air?)

I've just did a Home Depoit Air intake, after seeing some of the pictures of other Dakota's and Durango's with home made units. The questions occured to me. Are you getting enough air out of the K&N that you chose?

Since I have a 5.9, I checked around the web at how much CFM's that a stock 5.9 takes. I have found a common number of 625 CFM's. So, i chose a K&N that flows 726 CFM's.

I have seen some home made intakes with some small filters. Just wanted to warn you that you may not be getting enough air to your engines under full load.

Check with K&N and see how they calculate CFM's for your filter. Just call them, free tech support. You want to get the same filter they use on their intake kits or something bigger as in CFM's.

This is just a word of advise.
