it depends on what the PCM is factory set at for the tires that came on it

Can you get the durango with a manual tranny also?
I think that also has something to do with it. At least on the daks it seems too.

My 2000 5.9 shuts off at 118mph... and no there is no manual trans for the Durango. I wish there was!
