Subject: Will the muffler fit??? IP: Logged
Message: I’m looking at a Dynomax Ultra-Flo SS (#17265). The muffler dimensions are 4.25" x 9.75" x 20", and 25.5" long overall. It’s a Center 2.5” In/Dual 2.5” Out. Is there enough room for this to fit under a 2000 SLT Extended Cab?
I'd like to just order the muffler I like and take it to the local shop and have them install it without any hassels. I haven’t been able to look at the truck yet; otherwise I’d just go and measure things for myself.
Thanks

Message: It should work. I've got a Flowmaster70 with a case that is 22" long under a '01 regular cab. Crawl under the right side with a yardstick or tape measure. Club cab should be a breeze.

Message: I didn't think there would be a problem but never know when they pack everything so tightly.
Later this weekend I'll be able to check it out for myself.
Thanks

Message: Is Dual 2.5" OUT a good choice for a 4.7L or should I go with the Dual 2.25" OUT?

Message: Either will work. Smaller tubes are easier to bend for the installer. However, a good installer may use most of your stock (right side) pipe (2 1/2"), and make a left side pipe. I've got 2 1/2" duals, and love 'em. Have them make a little "L" bracket to push the spare tire slightly to the right for more clearance for the left pipe.
