Subject: Clutch Squealing?

Message:
I have a '00 Dakota CC with the 4.7L and 5 speed. The past week or so I'm hearing a short squeal when letting the clutch out. It's happening when the clutch is a little over 3/4 of the way out. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the clutch, but it still grabs good when I get on it. I have about 58000 miles on it and it's the original factory clutch. Anyone else have something similar happen with theirs?

I think I'm going to just end up getting a Center Force stage III and have a friend put it in. It seems people are pretty happy with them.

got an '00 QC Sport 3.9 5 spd. hadn't had that problem but, it sounds like it could be the TO bearing.

Yep, not the clutch, as said, the throw out bearing. Some one once corrected me on this forum, and said it was called the 'pilot' bearing, nah, didn't think so.

Unless you dump the clutch, race it ALOT, I'd bet the clutch still had a lot of miles in her.

Standard procedure though is to do them all at once. I'd go with the bearing if it were me and the clutch works fine for what your doing.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm still thinking I might as well replace the whole darn thing since I'll be in there anyways. Or at least my friend will be. :-)
