Subject: Blown Head Gasket
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a slow leak on my head gasket which is pressurizing my cooling system and forcing the coolant out over the period of a few days. I can live with this for the time being, but new head gaskets are in my near future. A few questions:

I run a Vortech supercharger at 9psi. Would the Cometic gaskets be the best route? Will they seal on the stock head and block surface?

I have the 5.9, but not the R/T. How much performance gain would I expect by going to better heads? O-ringed perhaps?

Cost is a consideration, but I do not want to be doing this again anytime soon if at all possible. Also, how long does it typically take to replace the head gaskets? Any tricks or tips?

Thanks,
Scott
