Message: 42 lb are too small? What are you putting them on, a tour bus? Are you sure you don't mean 24 lb? Even then, you shouldn't need that big an injector for a Dakota.

Message: FYI, a 72lb injector will support 950 hp with a BSFC of .60 figuring it to be blown, with a rail pressure of 65 psi. even if you were 450 hp with a n/a BSFC of .50 and a rail pressure of 45 psi you would need a 35 lb injector. Maybe you should try your BS on some other forum!

Message: You are mis-informed as to my engine specifications. Just because a injector size will support up to 950hp, with the proper computer it can be adjusted to support less. I have aroud 800hp flywheel and run 45 lbs of fuel pressure. This truck makes over 450 rear wheel HP and over 660 rear wheel torque. I took first place in the gas powered dyno contest at the national Mopars AT The Strip event in Las Vegas Nevada, 2003.
Here are my truck specifications. I would be glad to answer any other questions.

Message: Note the old numbers of 450 rwhp and over 600 torque are with a much smaller cam. I have an almost identical engine build to Scott Q and he is making over 600 rear wheel on both the hp and torque in his Dakota. I should be back to the dyno in the next couple of weeks for some up dated numbers. According to Dyno 2000 which is an educated guess, at best. I should be around 810 hp(flywheel)@ 6000 rpm with the new camshaft.

Message: The standard driveline loss that people are getting on 4wd's are around 30%. I guess because of going through the transfer case and the heavy weight of the large off road tires. I have pictures, but am not sure how to post them to this board. Here is a link though of pictures that someone took of my truck at The Mopars at the Strip event. http://www.dakota-durango.com/photos/photos_mats12.htm
Going left to right look at pictures 3,4,5,6 & 7, or leave your email and I will send you some better ones.

Message: I know what you mean. I have thought several times that I need to find a 97' Dakota RT and do a transplant. Put a 4 link in the back with some big tubs and some 15" wide rims and then try and hold on. Scott has my same engine with a different supercharger in his RT and is running low 11's. He still gets 14 mpg on the freeway driving to the track. If you don't know aboout Scott's truck check out www.gsmotorsports.com

Message: My truck has been an on going 5 year project. I'm just about done. The last thing on my list is to swap in a ford 205 transfer case. I know my 231HD is on borrowed time with the torque I have. The 205 is a total gear drive instead of a chain. Mike I checked out your profile and you have done a nice job on your truck. Just curious, what kind of idle and how much idle vacuum do you have with the 220 cam?

| RE: 42 lb injectors for sale IP: Logged
Message: Its a rough idle (which I love), the vacuum is really low on mine cuz mine was sortof a special grind off the 220 cam specs so the vacuum is lower than what Marty advertises. If I'm coming up to a light it'll sortof dip down into the 400rpm range then kinda dip back up after I've come to a complete stop. I'm afraid to see what would happen if I put on some 1.7 RR's LOL. I had 24# injectors on it but it was way to rich at idle (but was kick@ss at WOT), its sorta rich at idle now w/ the stock injectors, I was told w/ the B&G flash I needed to have fuel pulled out at idle but that'll be later on.
I've dynoed it around 330rwhp and 338rwtq...the #'s were kinda a false reading that day cuz my speed limiter is only 120 and when they reved to 6000 it hit the speed limiter in 3rd gear and when it hit the fuel cutoff it spiked the #'s up. So all my #'s read 333, 338, 336rwhp on the spike. Before the spike it sat at around 330.
I'm gonna stay away from the giggle gas, but a blower, I'd have to save up awhile for that cuz that'd mean forged pistons, rods & all that junk. If I was really gonna save some money it'll be for a Keisler TKO 5speed.
Think my next mods will be a Viper fan & a pulley to get that last bit of HP outta my engine.
