Subject: 2001 4.7 exhaust question IP: Logged
Message: I have already done a subject search and havent found my answer. I want to get dual exhaust on my truck. I dont want an extremely loud exhaust and i hate the gurgling sound that some exhausts give. Of course i want the best performance gains if any. I had my eye on a FM 50 SUV or a Dynomax Ultraflo SS. Im just looking for some ideas.

Message: Unless you upgrade your intake system ( more air in ) aftermarket exhaust(more air out) for the 4.7 is a total waste of money if your looking for more power. You might gain a few horsepower on the topend but you loose torque on the lowend. And when it comes to throttle response and get up and go, torque is where it is at. Ive said it before, i noticed the lose of torque the moment i pulled out of the mufflershop. Lost 1.6 seconds to 60!
She sounds real sweet though- flowmaster 40 catback.
