Message: Alright... I had my brake pads and rotors replaced at Pepboys recently... I even spent the extra money to have Raybestos put on.
I even had them check it twice because at the same time I had that done the Emergency Brake and ABS light stayed on.. not to mention the speedometer stopped working between 0-24mph (ended up being the Vehicle speed sensor).... but anyway. They still squeek.
What gives ?

Message: Try tapering the top and bottom edges of the brake pads and/or grinding a groove through center of the pad with a cutoff wheel (DON'T GRIND ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE PAD). This has been highly effective on neon brakes which are notorious for squeeks.

Message: Are they semi metallic pads? Had new pads installed a few months ago and have had nothing but squeeks and grinds since, been back 3 times, each time they say everything is fine. Go figure! I believe next time, I will install ceramic pads!
