Message: Yes, I do have the stock electric fan. But as stated in the service manual, that is meant to be a supplement to the clutch fan, not a replacement. The PCM only runs the electric fan when the A/C is on or when the coolant temp reaches 220 degrees. I really don't want my motor running that hot.

Message: JZ,
Well, I guess I didn't read the manual!
In the Houston/Galveston area, 4.7, 5spd, QC, Took off the belt driven clutch/fan. After 2 months, I also istalled a 180 T-stat. In the heat, pulling my sailboat, sitting in traffic, etc., It never has made it to the halfway point on the gauge.
Around here, you basically almost always run the A/C, so the elec in on. You did say you lived in AZ, right? Unless its in the White Mts, you'll probably be doing the same.
Oh, you could search all the posts about a relay thermostat, how to wire it, etc., good posts too.
I doubt their truck really runs any cooler than mine, the 180 t-stat really helps.
Suit yourself, some people really try and make things more difficult than they need to be.
If it doesn't run the temps you want, pull over, take about 45secs, and thread the belt clutch/fan back on, it stays tight with the motor rotation, no wrench needed.

Message: Thanks for the info Todd.
I will try the 180 tstat first and see how that does. Right now, my truck will run about midway on the gauge, but if I get stuck in traffic it will start creeping up and the A/C turns luke warm. I will look for info on that relay thermostat too.
Thanks
