First ran 16.3@82 with bad plugs and overdrive off shiftin' gears myself and 93 octane. Ran 10.403@67.77 & 16.25@84.38 on 89 octane, overdrive on, shiftin' myself. no spin but I have to roll out. I think I should be in the high 15's with just traction bars and street slicks....yes/no? Still feels like I need more top end too. I know I'm an automatic but I'm stuck with what I got, who knew I'd be racing on the strip. This is of course like everyone else a daily driver, but what's next for best performance gains and in the best order?:

Mopar HP computer?
1.7 crowers?
ignition system(msd6a,ssblaster,brass rotor and cap, 8.5 wires)?
***NOS***?
Traction bars?
dragslicks?
3.92 gears?
stall converter?
Headers and cut out cat converter?
Port and polish TB

I'll be happy in the 15's,...I promise, at least I'll be a little more compettitive.

99' 318 auto CC w/tonneau and spoiler
180* stant t stat
gatorback D belt
Autolite 3923
K&N FIPK2
Flowmaster duals out rear
relocted IAT
removed rubber flap
I'm in South FL; sealevel but hot.

I want to eat rice every Wed and Friday nights, but I gotta spend the money, now before the kid comes.
Thanks and Peace in the Middle East <`)))<>

I'm thinkin' NOS would be best for the money but I know I still need more of a set up for it, maybe TB and M1 intake? That way I have the speed at the track and not when I don't need it. Still all the horse power in the world won't help if I can't lock up when I slam it down.

Drag tires and MP PCM (needs octane 92 or up) will get you into the 15s. If you are getting wheel hop now, put 2 spring clamps on each of the rear leaf springs. Water wetter will help in FL temps. If your tonneau cover is a hard one remove it as well as spare tire and tailgate at the track. Transgo kit for the tranny will help with the shifting.

If you don't have a Transgo shift kit don't shift manuelly the trans is electronic and will run better if left in "drive". Weight is a concern with just a 318 I have a 5.9 Durango that runs a 15.92 easy with just basic bolt-ons. Remove your spare and all extra weight may help a little and get a throttle body from Fastman hold off on the M1 unless you are going to get a new cam or some headwork. The M1 looses bottom end on stock motors. anyway its just my 2 cents. good luck

No. It's a bottle (12 oz.) of liquid heat transfer agent made by RedLine that you just add it to your coolant mix. Anti-freeze in the coolant is a very poor medium for transferring heat away. Water is a far better but a no-no to run pure water. I don't know what ratio of antifreeze/water mix is recommended for FL but up here it's 50-50. Come racing season I empty the coolant mix out of the rad, pour in a bottle of water wetter and fill the rad with distilled water. After race season I bring the coolant back to the 50-50 mix.

> what other mods do you have Ticats?

The typical mods for a na engine: cam, beefed-up valvetrain components, M1-4bbl intake, ram air box with dual air ducts, K&N 14" air filter, F&B ported tb, Leach ceramic coated headers, 3000 stall converter, transgo kit, 4.56 gears, drag tires, MP PCM, short belt, battery relocation, brass cap & rotor, MP plug wires, Autolite 3923.

> what kinda MPG u gettin' on the highway?

I don't get much of a chance to calculate my mpg during the racing season but I did do one 100 mi. calc. With the 4.56 gears and 28" all season tires, almost 18 mpg staying to about 10 below the limit, no jack rabbit starts and using OD most of the time.

ruhlahan ... MP has rear spring clamps (P4120470) and also Mr. Gasket has a kit (#1293), neither too expensive, I gather. I made my own and then used grade 8 bolts to clamp them on. 2 clamps are needed for each rear leaf spring on the front side of the axle. Location is about 8 3/4" and 15 3/4" (experiment) from the center of the front spring eye. Also a good idea to cut to size pieces of hard rubber that go between the pieces of the clamp and the leaf spring to prevent the clamp from "walking" along the leaf spring.

get rid of the flowmasters and get a magnaflow I did and improved my time by a half a second. The magnaflow exhaust won't make as much noise but you can tell the differance the first time you launch after changing. Also if you have a 318 the mopar computor will make a good mod. I just wish I could get one for my 4.7 damnit. My 4x4 sport ext cab 15.4.

Yea but I think the Mopar Pcm will take advantage of the mods. It can't hurt for more air and better exhaust. I don't have the cat cut out until I get headers. Low times could be because of high temps in south FL.???

Whoever told you to run 50/50 water/antifreeze is full of sheet. Thats a very rich mixture and probably causes your water pump to drag some.
I mix my coolant down to 20% antifreeze and 75% DISTILLED water. The other 5% is WaterWetter.
My guage never goes past 1/4 on the temp indicator. Even idling in 100% humidity and 90degree temps!
You dont loss that much to the weather in South FL. On a real humid night..you may be down 10hp tops.
If youre only running 16s... you must have a high mileage motor. We've got 318s in North FL running 12s with 150k on them. All stock internals too. No supercharger or nitrous.
Dont know what to tell you.

Dude there is no way stock 318's w/o nos or S/C are running 12's unless they got stroker kits. Mine's only a 99 with 45,000 miles. U show me one and I'll buy it! Better yet I'll buy you one too!
