Subject: k&N filter prep. IP: Logged
Message: Got my Gen II K&N charger. installed it in 1 hr.5 min. Fun.
Question,do I oil this filter from the factory?
I didn't notice any real gains from my butt dyno. My 97' dakota has a 318, 4x4, 5 spd, 3.55, LSD. It has 180T and 3" cat.back with red line exhaust. It sound real nice though. Should I expect 245hp and 315lb/ft? Up from the 230hp/300lb stock factory figs?
Where should I spend my hard earn money next? PCM? or MSD wires? Please educate.

Message: I relly don't think there is any oil prep for the K&N filter. I have an Airaid cold air intake w/ a K&N filter at the end. Nothing was mentioned about filter prep. There is a big difference in price between spark plug wires and a PCM. The PCM is definitely where the money should go though. Get the Mopar Performance module. It wins over any other Hypertech, Jet, etc... that's out there.

Message: Most K&N Filters say "pre-oiled" on the package and the box.
