Subject: Dealer Mechanics just told me.... IP: Logged
Message: That by putting on a aftermarket exhaust system, i have virtually destroyed any possibility of them being able to correctly read emissions and calibrate my truck to get its mileage back. The mechanic tells me that they use your exhaust to measure if your truck is running lean or rich. That aftermarket exhausts almost always lower your mileage by messing with the factory settings causing computer problems. Should i be regretting that aftermarket exhaust that i payed 500 bucks for? Or is this man full of you know what?

Message: That service tech is blowing smoke up someones booty, and I think you are the recipient. They can still check the emissions and calibrate things with an aftermarket exhaust. There has to be another dealership near by, go there and see if they have some real MOPAR Technicians, instead of someone from the 'Day Labor Pool'.

Message: This is true. Unless you gutted your cats, your exhuast readings will not be altered. Sounds like a typical mechanic. Where is TECH at, this is waht I'm talkin about man. Nearly impossible these days to find a competent mechanic that isn't tryin to screw you.
