Subject: K&N for a homemade intake?? IP: Logged
Message: I just went out and bought the PVC tubing to make my new "homemade intake." Now I need to find the K&N Cone filter that has 3" inlet and about 10" in length. Anyone know what the part number is for the filter so I can order it? And also when i get it installed and eventually I might have to take it in to the dealership for service, will they have a problem with it? THANKS!

Message: Why are you taking your precious truck to the "DEALER" for servicing???? If you can install your own homemade K&N filter kit, you should be able to service your own truck!!!
Any mechanic should recognize an aftermarket setup like K&N filters. There shouldnt be any probs there.

Message: Kicker, try K&N # E-1796, Autozone stocks it. it fits a Chevy truck , but I've been using it on my homemade air intake for over a year now. I have photos of it if needed.

Message: Thanks for the posts! I found on the intenseperformace.com site that they sell the power stack filters bythemselves and im looking at the 9" Powerstack with a 3" inlet/flange. Would this filter fit on my 3" PVC tube? THANKS!
