Okay, I've put on a K&N FIPK 2, 180 T stat, relocated IAT sensor, AR 3932 plugs, Flowmatser exhaust,...next comes Mopar HP computer. It seems there is more overall powerband, more HP, but maybe less tb response intially more HP overall, sucks reseting computer 'cause it relearns and isn't as responsive. How many miles till a computer reset settles in to set parameters? What's the next mods to come? cams? nitrious? supercharger? ignition? Would nitrious be the best fix for a fast truck when you want but still a daily driver? powertrax?
99 318 CC, please tell me what u think?

I have the same truck - '99 CC 2wd 318,44re,3.55's.

The M1 ,ported TB, and MP headers w/3" exhaust & no cat were the best mods so far - went from 10.50's to 9.60's in the 1/8 .
The MP PCM got me into the 9.50's after I put the IAT sensor back in the manifold - it would run too rich with it in the intake tube.
Colder plugs slowed it down , I'm running 5224 Autolites now - 3923's cost me 1/10 and 2mph in the 1/8 - I'm running a 180 stat and get no rattles on 89 with the PCM.

The heads are the same between 318 and 360 magnums so there is no gain there.
Usually it take about 200 miles for the PCM to straighten up after you reset it - with the stock PCM I would usually run a little quicker after I reset it - with the MP I tried it and slowed down 5/10's - Air/Fuel gauge showed it was running pig rich for the next 3 or 4 runs.

I tried a 52mm Holley TB and lost a bunch of low end - they work great on 360's but are a little large on the 318 until you get more radical with it - I sticking with my ported 50mm for now.

If I don't build a 408 this winter I probably going to put on some 2.02 R/T heads and a 210 Comp cam in the 318 - should work ok with a 2,400 stall MP converter and a 9 1/4 w/3.92's out of an R/T.

What exactly is the M1? And did you port the TB? It seems it does run too rich with the IAT in the K&N tube. I think I'm switching mine back but I was going to see if the computer caught up to it, I guess it will still run too rich. Thanks man that was the kinda stuff I was looking for, don't wanna make too many mods and lose all my bottom end.

Does removing the cat add a noticeable amount of HP? Is it reaaly worth breaking the engine down for a new manifold and headers? how much HP or difference are we talkin' here? And to change the cam, is this the most major mod with gains?
I really appreciate all the input.

Removing the cat was worth about 10-15 hp but it was starting to break down so maybe 5hp it the cat is functioning properly.

I feel that the cam is worth the work - with the cam , heads and 52mm TB I should be around 300-310 rwhp , I'm at 245rwhp currently and started at 192rwhp stock.

Joe thanks for your posts. Did you port the tb yourself and how? What's this 2,400 stall MP converter? Also where do you live, (with the IAT relocated), is it too rich because of your altitude? I live in West Palm Beach, FL, maybe 7 feet above sea level. I know HP is a little more than RWHP but, I thought the 318 was about 225HP out of the box. With that rear end setup, your quicker off the line but how does that affect your top end? Forgive my ignorance, I'm always learning.
And anybody that has done the cam how many hours and how much aggravation? What kinda results?
Advise is much appreciated:)
