Expect a gain of .1-.3 seconds off your times and your speedo will recalibrate itself to the new gears. The only thing that changes the speedo is different height tires.

4.10 gears with 26" slicks at the track is like putting 4.56 gears in

Well I hope you were not expecting to gain 100hp with the gears, what your basically doing is moving your powerband around with the gears. It's feels a lot faster because your power comes on quicker. There are even a few guys that get slower with a lower gear, since traction can be an issue on the track and you can run out of gear and go into OD. 4.10 gear is a great gear for those that like to drive on the highway. I have 4.56 gears and it can become a tad annoying at speeds over 75mph. Don't get so hung up on times and just make sure your having fun driving your truck.

well not a prob since i cant go over 100, jsut want a little more neck snappin action from the go pedal, plus i live in hilly minot, north dakota so they will help with the gas mileage some.

well, I put 4:56 gears in my 5.2 ram, and it woke my truck up, it was unbeatable off the line with my 285-65-16 pirellis, but as the speed increased, the power was lost, I couldn't gain past 90 when it shifted in to od, it actually was slower top end, but bottom end was unbelievable..my 2 cents

I just bought a 2003 Durango with 5.9 and 3.92 rear. I'm really very disappointed with its performance. Traded my '99 Durango with same engine and (I think) same rear gearing -- it was a road rocket. Question for those of you who know about these things: Can I swap out the rear with, say, 4.10 gears? If so, is it expensive or difficult to do? Where would I go to get it done?

especially with a 4.7 the power is all up top. It likes to rev, the higher gears will help it alot. also from a rolling speed it will increase driveability to get the engine out of the 1500-3200 range and into some power without having to gear down. Be advised though with us 5 speed guys, more shifting! time for a short throw!. Frog> those gears for a 9.25? Put em up here and youll sell em quick!
