Message: All right dodge owners. Let me explain something to you all. I've been surfing this site for the last two hours, because I wanted to see what kind of bs I could find first before posting some bs myself that I didn't know was absolutely true. First I do NOT see how any of you think that a dodge dakota looks good. They are hideous, and especially don't look good lowered. And you can't do crap as far as mods to see any real gains. Unlike my chevy s10, which runs like a champ, and looks SO much better. And yes you can get a lot of power out of the 4.3. The 4.3 would absolutely kill your "precious" R/T dakota with just a few mods. Ie...Intake, Exhaust, and a chip or programmer. That's pretty sad. And as far as your little 3.9, they are nothing!!! Why do you even try???? I saw a post about a dokota racing a GTP.....LOL. That has to be the funniest BS post I've ever seen. It's like saying a 5.0 can beat a Z06. Not gonna happen, unless the GTP or Z06 wasn't racing. In regards to the Syclone truck. This truck has TWIN turbos(not single) with all wheel drive, and a 4.3 V6. And they are one of the lightest trucks ever made. They are the FASTEST production trucks ever made. They will kill a lightning, and any other truck out there. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. Please do not be ignorant and post bs. It's just sick. Now before you say anything, think about what you are doing wasting your time with a dakota... You could have a kickass truck in an s10, which looks good either lowered(xtreme) or raised(ZR2), and can get significant gains in power from few mods. It's not a RICER either, lol. I'm not angry I just feel sorry for people that don't know what they could have. Pity ladies and genlemen, just pity!!!! lol

Message: I had a '95 S-10 before my Dak. Fine truck. Peppy 4 banger, 5-speed, black paint, nice interior, good stereo, etc.
When it came time to trade, I was going to get another one but after comparison shopping I found the Dak to be a much better value.
For the same money I could get a stripped down S-10 reg cab (V-6, auto, CD and NOTHING else) or my Dak Sport with V-8 auto, A/C, CD, CARPET (no, the S-10 didn't have carpet), more room, more towing capacity, more power and more machismo.
Dak wins.
'02 Sport 4.7 auto, Gibson exhaust, homebrew K&N cold air, 275/60 BFG Radial T/A's, Infinity CD w/Pioneer & Infinity spkrs & Kenwood powered sub.

Message: What a way to try and boost the ego after having bought a POS, come to a Dakota web site and try to slam Dakotas. I tell you what, bring your bad a$$ s-dime to a track, any track, run your best time, get your time slip (with your NHRA # on it) and a picture of you and your truck, (so we know it's you, and not your dad's) and post them up for us to see. Also have a picture of that Modified 4.3L Engine, so you can prove it's not a transplanted LT1, and prove something to us.
Now I would like for you to explain this Dakota vs. S-10 video to us. Explain how this 4.3L S-10 is beat so bad by a 4.7L Dakota that out weighs the S-10 by almost a 1,000#'s. Dakota vs. S-10 And yes the S-10 was racing, these are Neighbors, and the S-10 owner was just like you talking a lot of smack, until the moment of truth.
We will be waiting for your intelligent reply, oh mighty mouth.

Message: I actually new a guy back in highschool with an old square body s-10 rc that had a happy gas 327 small block in it. It was done right and that thing was a bad a$$. He had to gut the rear wheel wells after the drop he added didn't allow for the tires. That thing was ridiculously fast...but then again it had a 327.

Message: Here is my 1/8 mile track experience with a 4.3 extreme(ly slow):
Xtreme 9.5 seconds : 5psi Powerdyne Supercharger, 50 shot of NX, street slicks, intake, headers, exhaust, and performance programmer.
My R/T 9.2 seconds : intake, F&B TB, M1, R/T heads, flowmaster muffler, mopar PCM, and street tires.
The guy driving the s(low)-10 seemed a tad bit disappointed, especially since he also had a slower time than some civic there (9.4). Just my experience.

speaking of dumb bs, your information on the Syclone being twin turbo is incorrect. Yes the Syclone is a 4.3 w/ an AWD system from the Astro van BUT it has a single turbo made by Mistubishi. http://www.syty.org/old/faq.html
the only S-10 that isn't a ricer are the ones with SB v8 motor swaps, otherwise the 4.3 sounds like butthole.
Correction again! The Syclone is not the FASTEST truck ever made...it is the quickest. The top speed on a Lightning is around 140, the Syclone was governed at 128. The fastest 1/4 recorded in a magazine for a stock Syclone was 13.5 almost identical to the fastest Lightning. The Sylcone is much faster in the 1/8th I will give it that.

Message: I was searching the net for two hours because I was bored and AT WORK!!! This is the only time I have time to check this or any other site. And since I didn't post until around 1 in the morning(I work till 2am), I hardly see time to waste at home looking on the net. I am not faking owning an s10 or any other components that are on it. I forgot to post what I have. I've got a 2003 s10 Xtreme, with a 4.3 manual, fleetside, extedended cab, and dark cherry red metallic. My engine mods are as follows,...K&N FIPK Gen II, Flowmaster Exhaust, Hypertech Power Programmer III, MAF mod, and the MSD6A ignition. I previously had a 98 s10 4.3 auto, and before that I had a 94 s10 4.3. My buddy has a 97 dak V6, and he hates it. He is goint to chevy boys. I can waste an R/T dak easy with the mods I have now. The only way an R/T can touch me is if it has a s/c or its juiced. If I put a mach performance S/C on my sdime, I would be running high 12s to low 13s in the 1/4. And that is NOT BS. The powerdyne s/c sucks especially for the s10, sorry that guy didnt know how to drive his x, because it is capable of way faster times than a 1/8th 9.5. And that is without headers, and juice. An s10 with a s/c and juice is dangerously fast. Tell that guy to put his psi in between 10 and 14, then see what he gets.
I stand corrected on the Syclone statement, my bad, but you have to admit, the dak isnt even in the same league as the syclone or typhoon whether it be V8 or not.
You claim your dakota engines are way better than the s10 engines...lol. Dodges engines are way underpowered, and are hard to get more power out of. That is unless you put substantial time in replacing internals for it. But that isnt even worth it. If the s10 4.3 is so bad, then why does the 5.9 v8 in your dak not even compete with a swapped v8 in an s10?? 1. Weight, 2. Dodge motors suck...period. Its sad how you have to put a huge engine in your trucks to make them faster, and keep up with us s10 guys. Granted, the stock R/T will beat a 4.3 stock s10 any day, but its a V8 vs a V6. And they aren't even that far apart stock to stock. LOL. And how fast can your pathetic R/T dak or 3.9 dak go modded to the max without engine swap or internals??? No where near the potential a fully modded 4.3 s10 can go. It's not bs its a fact. Check it out yourself.
Lol at some of the lame jokes I get in response, instead of decent arguments like a few others posted about.
And no I'm not in SO CAL, I'm in IL.

Message: I don't know why I'm posting b/c I've proven dozens of Extreme S10 owners wrong, but even with your mods, you can't break into the high 14's without slicks. I'm an automatic with a few basic mods and can break into the mid 14's all day long on street tires. If you're as good a driver as you think you are, then you wouldn't be here posting b/c a good driver knows his and his vehicles limits. The mods you've added give you all of 20-25 RWHP over stock MAXIMUM. That still puts you behind a totally stock regular cab 4.7L 5 speed manual with any stock geared limited slip differential. Those run 14.7-14.5 stock with a talented driver. I've tuned plenty of Chevy S10's over the years. What makes you think that your's is any different than the rest of the 4.3L's out there?

Think your S10 is fast (you haven't even posted a time, just "what it would do with a S/C) because you've beaten a guy on the way home from work in traffic in a R/T and he was too smart to race you to the back of the next cars bumper which was 20' away.
And lastly are just trying to be a troublemaker because you clearly have no clue what times any v6 truck would run with mild mods and a S/C....

A Dak even with a V8 has almost or more then 1000lbs on a V6 S10...hence a Dak being called a "mid sized P/U" and not a "compact" like the S10.
Get a clue and realize that cars with small blocks can and have beaten full size cars with big blocks.......Hondas weighing 1500lbs and having little mods can spank some serious V8 rides.
Grow up stop picking fights you cant win and realize power to weight has everything to do with ET and top speed.

You know pictures, videos (such as the one I posted above) and Time slips are the real deal, not hypothesis and what ifs.
