Subject: I want to buy a Super Charger IP: Logged
Message: I've tossed around the idea of supercharging my 4.7, and its going to happen. Now I need some input. Which brand of Supercharger, how tough is this to put on myself (i am very mechanically inclined with every tool i could need), and finally, is the cost worth it when compared to other mods? Please shout out!

Message: I have a KB and like it. Notchlx has a 4.7 with a Paxton and sounds like he's had great results. I think the KB is better IF you have an auto trans. I think the Paxton offers you a little more flexibility when it comes to other modifications too.

Message: they dont have the 408 kit for a 4.7 wat are u thinkin? he wants 6500 for a 9500 not used kit? thats a great deal, 2 dakotas around here have that pricey kit and its worth it, it comes with everything, and i believe it comes with a oil and fuel cooler and a co2 spray for the intercooler, anyways i heard that after this pricey kit the 4.7 get almost 400 hp

Message: The Paxton is a good unit. Just a pain to install when they send you the wrong parts. DOH!
It "only" took me a month to get it complete.
The end results were good though.
304RWHP and 351RWTQ
It shaved a second and 2-3tenths off on a completely stock application, and after adding exhaust, it's now 2 full seconds faster than it was off the showroom floor. The rear wheel HP and torque numbers are obviously higher now.
Best 1/4 with Paxton kit + Exhaust+ home ported 65MM TB= 13.358 @ 102.48
The cost is a hair bit cheaper than the KB too, if you're dealing with the right people. ;)

Message: Any of you guys with the Kenne Bell. Have you guys had any problems with the MAP sensor???? I'm having problems and have not been able to figure it out yet. I got the Freeze Frame data from the code and sent it to Kene Bell. Have not heard back yet. I;ve already replaced the MAP sensor and checked all my vacum lines. I even changed the By-pass valve and still its running like sh*t. Any suggestions????

Message: I will sell my Kenne Bell SC for $1500. I recently removed it from my 4.7L because I had to sell the truck. I couldn't find any local buyers that would purchase it with a super charger so I had to put it back to stock. Send me an E-mail if interested (mmudd@wilmorite.com). I live in the Washington DC area.

Message: do any of u have a kenne bell with the 5.9? their website has dyno charts and the kenne bell on the 5.9 seems to add a lot of power throughout the rpm range even more so than on a 4.7. if anyone has one tell me about it because the r/t in my driveway is begging for more air.

I really do think the truck is quicker or a least capable of being quicker, but if you watch the video, you can see I'm shifting into second before the end of the 60ft.
I'm running on 26" ET Streets, and that's creating too much gear. I'd like to strap on a set of 28" and see what happens.

Message: if any of you 5.9 guys are looking for a kenne bell i know a guy that is trying to get rid of his here in VA. Close to the Harrisonburg area, and he's asking $1800. it would be on my truck right now, if i didn't have this damn 3.9 :) let me know if anyone is interested...comes with the optimizer and it's not pollished, but i know that it works well, because i saw it on his '99 360 Ram before he took it off about 2 weeks ago
hope this helps,

Message: I have the Kenne Bell S/C and JBA headers on my 99 Dakota R/T. It's very powerful on the street. Launches at the step of the pedal,( but not too hard ) otherwise you'll be buying tires sooner than later. If I was racing it, I'd go with the Procharger.

Message: None other than kenne bell boost, fuel, and temp. gauge. No racing either. There is no traction. I would need slicks, Cal tracs, shocks, etc. I'm past my budget for the year.
