Can i bolt a tbi from a 318 on my 3.9 or do i need the ebi from a 360. Also will i get more fuel to the chambers? The port sizes are the same i think and they all have 2 injectors so which one can and should i use. its a 99, 3.9, airaid intake, reprogrammed jet stage 2, tbi spacer, catco cat, v-force muff, 2.5 inch tubeing,180 stat, bosch +4 plugs, msd super conductor wires.

I would probably say go with the 5.9 because the 318 and the 3.9 tb's are the same size i believe i can check for you tomarrow. If you do do the swap you will want to swap all the sensors and injectors from the 3.9L tb to the tb you decide to use.

I will warn you that there may be a slight stumble off idle if you get into it to fast because of the programing in the computer. Also the reason you should swap the injectors is that the engine will run rich and you wont get good mileage

I think that DakotaFreak is a bit confused, the throttle body from the 5.2 and the 5.9 are the same, it would not matter which one you used. The injectors are also the same and they are not located on the throttle body, each engine uses one per cylinder located in the manifold. When you change the TB be sure to clear the PCM it uses input from the MAP and TPS sensors to determine spark advance. To clear disconnect battery cable and turn key to crank and hold for 20 seconds, release and reconnect battery.

TBI stands for throttle body injection the injectors are on the throttle body the pre-magnum engines where set up like this the 5.9L Tb for these engines are approx .5" bigger in diameter

The magnum engines are as you described jtha03
but the confusinf thing about this post is the year of the dakota he states its a 99 which would make it a magnum and the 318 tb would work. If it has the TBI (throttle body injection) it would be a 87-91 pre-magnum motor.

herb what year is your truck??
