Subject: Getting a LOUD-DEEP exhaust IP: Logged
Message: Right now I am running a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on my R/T. its connected to the cat. converter. When i rev my truck up, the exhaust seems to rattle. And also, its not very loud.
Does anyone know what I can buy to get that Loud and Deep sounding exhaust. I dont wanna run strait pipes because i'd like to get some performance out of the exhaust. should i get a new cat.? thanks,

Message: Flow 40's are pretty loud muffs. You can try aiming the tip to the ground to make it reverb off the pavement.
Summit lists a (I think) Flowmaster 10 series, which is a drag muffler. Not sure if its street legal though.
Ive used glasspacks installed backwards before, so the fins cant catch as much air. Those are pretty loud that way and wont resonate in the cab as much as the flows (or any other chamberd muff)will.
The rattle my be the clamps if your using them. Just tighten them up more. Or make sure the exhaust isnt contacting the frame (or anything else for that matter)any where, which will cause a noticable rattle.
Hope this helps.
