Message: I am currently getting info on the SMT6 from
www.perfectpower.com
It is a programmable piggy-back unit that lets you advance/retard timing, change the fuel map, run nitros or extra injectors etc.
I will keep the forum informed as to what I found out.

Message: don't have any personal experience but i don't think you can go wrong with a mopar performance pcm. dyno'd for 28ft-lbs torque on a 5.9--not bad for a simple computer swap (snaps right in place of your old PCM). then you could put an aftermarket tuner on top of that, theoretically?
you can purchase that www.krcperformance.com

Message: You should really take care of your exaust and air intake first or all your gonna get from the pcm is the need for priemium fuel. Make sure you loose the cat and replace it with a performance cat. Catco makes a good catalytic converter and they're not too expensive($300) Then go with a jet stage 2 and have the chip reprogrammed for what you want to get the most of. As for just getting a aftermarket pcm your gonna be pissed when you spend the 200-400 dollars and all you notice is a change in shift points at hard acceleration.

Message: I have a PPIII for my 5.2L It actually works a lot better than I ever thought it would. The truck pulls noticeably harder when passing. With the 87 tuned setting, I got a lot of pinging with 87 octane, so now I use 89 and that works just fine. If you have any questions, just pop and email over.

Message: Mopar PCM, 5.9 35° timing, still no pinging on
87 octane. Very noticable performance upgrade and
allows additonal mods to be most effective
