I ran across a rather interesting product.
It's from Perfect power (www.perfectpower.com) and is a piggy-back ecu. They have a wiring diagram for a 2000 Dakota 5.9L and will create custom wiring diagrams. It's programmable and only $300.00.
I emailed them for more info and will kepp yo all informed.

$300? Last I saw they were around $750.00.
