Just wanted to let everyone know about my latest Chevy race. At a 55mph roll I pulled away from a SS Silerado. I'd say about 1 truck lenght by 90 and 2 truck lenghts by 100. He did not want to race from a dead stop, or try a second time. Car and Driver says the silverado does 14.7s in the quarter but I think that is optomistic. Guess you can't beleave everything you read. I'm sure his truck was stock though. also just a FYI -- don't try and race a Cadillac STS they're fast as hell

Good Kill... The $40G trucks aren't all they are cracked up to be...
Most of them are in the 15.20-15.50 @ 88mph range, straight off of the lot.
The STS Caddy isn't much faster at a 15.2 @ 93mph, you would want to race one from a stop, but not one at a 55mph roll.

I don't know what was up with the STS I raced (it was from a roll) But it LEFT me far far behind. Maybe it was on the bottle or something.

Hey congrats on the kill ,I posted a narrow win against a Silverado ss a week or so a go but it was from light to light twice. The owner was burned but wasn't being a dick about it. I also read the test and I'm sure that they got a hopped up one just for the test! My truck is bone stock and I ran neck to neck with one and my truck runs NO 14.8. I have seen several other tests posting 1/4 mile times more like 15.4- 15.8 Check out the curb weight on it to WOW .

I was even with a newer 6cyl camaro twice up to 50mph. That made me happy considering all the junk in my truck. too bad it weighs two and a half tons. good news about the SS being slow, my buddy wants one but doesnt beleive me...

sport truck magazine has a big article about them and say they ran one at 15.7 in the quarter...
