Went to the track this weekend, second time I've been to an 1/8th mile track the first time I had slicks, this time I didn't but I'm still satisfied.

Best time was
R/T- .507
60'- 2.06
1/8- 9.007 @ 79.85

Still haven't broken into the 8's yet but considering there was a couple of slightly modded Lightnings there running consistent 9.3-9.4's I'm happy. There was also a couple of F-body's running low 9's as well, another reason not to feel so bad.

Do the slicks make a real big difference on the eith of a mile. My R/T ran high nines on street tires.

I ran at Denton...that was my first time there, I was pretty impressed they prepped the track really well...sprayed VHT every so often.

I had a little wheel hop but not much these Nitto's hook up better than I thought they would. Everytime I've used slicks I've gained about .4-.5 so for me they make a big difference.

short shifting at 5k rpm, needing to shift into 4th gear rigt before the finish line, and racing on a bad clutch netted a 8.83@77 mph

i just put a centerforce stage III in, but i REALLY need to raise my rev limiter...should be a lot faster if i could just leave it in 3rd gear

Mike D, and Kota on 20's....

Your 1/8th mile times are very similar to mine. I'm just curious as to what it equates to in the 1/4 for you???

My best 1/8th 8.80 @ 80mph...Average is 8.90 @ 78mph...

Multiply your 1/8 mi. time by 1.56 to get your 1/4 mi. time. Ive looked at alot of peoples timesips and that seems to be pretty accurate.

Nice reaction time on that run , Mike.

Yeah they had every slip I asked for that night the time lights would occasionally not display the times but most of the time everything ran right.
