Definitely YES. That's the first aftermarket muffler that I ever put on my Dak and it sounded really good.

I am looking for a muffler that will give my 2ooo dakota a more deep sound in comparison to the stock. I was told by an exhaust place in my home town that because my truck is a 6 cyl. it would sound like a moped. What do you think and suggest. Thanks

I personally went with Gibson for my R/T. But, my father has a flowmaster on his 2000 V6. Thing growls like a V8. The 3.9l V6 magnum sounds the closest to a V8 that you can get. This guy from your hometown must have been thinking about a Chebby or Ferd V6. By they way. Don't let that V6 fool ya. My pops gives me a run for my money on every occasion he gets. Much respect for the 3.9l crowd!L8a

P.s- his V6 is "slightly modified", as he puts it!

I had a flowmaster and it sounded O.K. but made a whooshing noise when you floor it. The constant vibrating rumble got on my nerves.

I just had a magnaflow installed an now I can here the actual exhaust notes without added noise or vibration. If you want any muffler loud just dump it in front of the axle. But remember the chamber mufflers like Flowmaster perform better with tailpipes over 1-2' long.

Subject: Flowmaster trade for OEM

Have a flowmaster (about 1 year old) mounted on my V6
'98 Dakota Sport 4x4. Willing to trade even for a new
or like new condition OEM muffler for same truck.
Exhaust parts on V8s and V6s are the same..so either
will work. stock mount 2.5 in and out, all stock
parts and pipes...just bolt in up, Also, I believe
flowmaster has a lifetime warranty (check their site
to be sure). This exhaust is deep and throaty and
would sound fantastic on a V8. I prefer the quiter
life of a stock V6, however. Although I've gotten
nothing but compliments on the sound of the
flowmatered V6.

Located just outside of Albany, NY. No shipping
because of the price and the fact that I need my truck
to be operational as a daily driver. Unless you can send me yours, I can swap them and then send you mine.

The cheapest way to get around the wooshing of a flowmaster is to get a glass-pack. It still rumbles, but doesn't sound like a horse with gas.
