Message: Anybody out there racing Dakota's or R/T's in Jersey? Been racing mine heavily at Atco Raceway and on the streets. My 93 Ext Cab Dak usually beats any truck i come across on the street when i use nitrous (which i use quite often!) but i have to admit those late model supercharged Lightenings are a pain in the neck (right on my back bumper). Going to Mopar Atlantic Nationals on June 1st at Raceway Park to race my Dak ....anybody else up for the fun?

Message: Where are you, that you race at atco? I live about 10 mins for Raceway park, I was at the track about 20 times last year. I will most likely be going to the mopar nats. I won't be running thou, since I have a lifter or spring dying. I saw a nice 70' dart running 10.5@127 there last year I was thinking of buying. Maybe he'lll be there this year???
I also have a 93' 318 but its a reg cab longbed. what kind of mods and #s are you running? I only ran her at the track around 8 times this year to get some base #s to compare to, best of which was 15.5@87 on 235/75 BFG A/T KO @4050lbs w/driver. The weight suprised me since I keep hearing genII are lighter? Had traction problem with the lack of a LSD and 3.55 gears. The tapping is getting pretty loud and my mph are slowly dropping :( It doesn't help that I am beating the piss out of it letting it shift at 5100-5200 at WOT. >:) I'm waiting to see if I'm going to pass inspection in july then do cam/ motor mods.
I can't decide what I want to do with it since I have around 115,000 miles on her. I was think I might just get her to run mid 13s and get a neon to turbo or this 71' duster with a 440 to play with that I saw in the E-town paper. I think I have too much work to do to her anyway:
1. Need new sway bar(broke the brackets of the stock one)
2. Need a better brakes (which I can't find for our yr, or thier way too expensive) It looks like I have the stock rotors on thier and the old man I bought the truck from was just putting on pads. I barely use them anymore, I just start turning and push the people that don't know what thier doing of the road.
3. I also need eibach springs since my tires bottom out in the wheelwell when I hit the railroad tracks near work at 70mph..oops
I guess it's a good thing I am crazy. Its also why I live by my saying, "If it ain't sideways, you ain't driving hard enough!"
Catch ya later, Maybe I'll see you at the track.

Message: My truck has a all stock 5.2 with 160K miles. I have headers, dual exhaust, shift kit, 3.92 gears in the rear, K&N filter, Mopar Performance computer, and NX nitrous system. My truck totally stock ran 15.4's. Then after doing everything else other than nitrous it would run 14.9's. Now with the nitrous i run 13.5's on street tires. I get a lot of tire spin if i engage nitrous too soon. I am trying to find out who sells the best drag radials by the time i race at the Mopar Nats on June 1st. I'm told i should drop to very low 13's or possible high 12's if i hook up on a launch on nitrous (by the way i use 150hp shot). I have to be carefull not to go to fast cause the class i am racing in is for trucks going 13.00 or slower. I am in the process of building a 408cid stroker motor to replace my old 318. After the Mopar Nationals , I am actually going to go to Atco and hit my truck with more nitrous to see how much my stock engine will take (have jets for 200 and 225hp shots of nitrous) before blowing up. When it blows the 408 goes in ,which is already setup to handle up to 250hp shots of nitrous without a problem. If you go to the Mopar Nats you would have no problem seeing my truck, I'm sure i will be the only dark green 93 ext cab running.
I also have another play toy. Mine is a 71 Dodge Dart with a 318. It is not as fast as i would like ( 12.2's ) but i am thinking of getting it on a nitrous diet too. I have more experience in using nitrous on EFI vehicles not carbs.
I live in Browns Mills, next to Fort Dix and Mcguire Airforce Base, so i go to Atco alot.
Talk to you later and SEE YOU AT THE TRACK!!!

Message: What size tires are you looking for, width, dia., rim size? Are you ruling out mickey ets and hoosier quick time drag tires? Are the tires you're looking for going to used on the street frequently? The possible tires I know of:
mickey sportsman
mickey ets
hoosier quick time drag dot-(look like mickey sportsman)
hoosier quick time pro drag dot-(look like mickey et)
BFG drag radials
toyo proxes RA-1 (have gone 9.17@161mph on a triple wheelstanding 911 at Englishtown)The ones I would want on if I got caught out in the rain.

Message: I want a street drag tire that can be mounted on my aftermarket aluminum rims ( 15x8 ) with no modifications to the rim. I would mount it on my rims to drive to the track, race, then drive back home and remount street tires back on. the street tires i run are BFG radial GT's 275/60r15.
I just don't want to buy tires that supposed to be good and find out that they dont hook-up,after all they are not cheap! So i wanted to know want experience people had with the different kind of tires.
I agree that the R/T would most likely run about 14.5 to 14.70 as long as everything hooks up and weather good. GOOD LUCK AND SEE YOU THERE!!!!

Message: sounds good... hope u guys r right lol. as for tires, i have heard that the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 tires are excellent for traction on both dry and wet surfaces and are great for handling. i read about them on tirerack.com. u should check them out i am thinking about getting them on my r/t.
