Subject: Cold Air Intake ????'s IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering what I could do to make a heat shield for my new cold air intake. I did not buy the K&N because I guess I'm a little cheap. Has anyone rigged one up and is it really needed??

Message: There was a guy who made his from foam board, cloth, and fiberglass resign. It looked pretty clean. Can't find his website right now, I'll keep looking. I'm going to build the same thing.

i just used a piece of cardboard to make a template, then traced it to a piece of sheet metal. cut it, and painted it black. its held on by a few nylon zip ties.
does it look the greatest? NO.
but it works and only cost me a few $$$

Message: I made my heat shield out of standard 8" square HVAC duct. It works great. I relocated my IAT into it as well.
I have pictures if you are interested. Just reply.
