It could, but you may put too much stress on the 4x4 driveline. There are two people that I know who have a 4.7L with the Kenne Bell Supercharger system and they love it. (It's not cheap though $5000 approximately.)

Simple modifications like a modified throttle body, good cat-back exhaust, and maybe a "chip" aren't enough to put the truck at the 9.0 1/8 mile time.

Hey, bernd,
you said you know some people with a kenne bell
on there 4.7..with a kenne bell how long do you
think a engine would last...or 9lb psi procharger
how long do you think that the 4.7 would last
the the big procharger on it? do you know how
much horsepower the kenne bell gives the 4.7..

The Kenne bell supercharger gives the 4.7 115hp and should not have a major affect on the life of the engine if it is driven properly.

I laughed when I saw this. I'm glad someone assumed 1/8 mile. I was about to give that a HELL no for the 1/4 mile ;) You'd need to strap a rocket in the bed to get those numbers.

If you have enough money almost anything can be done. You would have to modify every piece of that power train and chasis to hit 9's. You would be much better off with a car. The cheapest way to go is with a 5 spd DSM(diamond star motors) car from the early 90's or a Honda. There is enough hard ware and soft ware out for these that it would be much cheaper to get to 9's. My mom just let her DSM 1991 go for $2000.00 it had about 72,000 gentel miles on it and ran strong. She could put an intake, cam's, hybryd T4 Turbo, Motec Tec II,injectors, and some NOS on it and get into 9's. Draging the extra powertrain parts, poor traction and the poor aerodynamic are realy going to make your goal difficult and expensive!!!

9's in the 1/8 mile should be obtainable but I wouldn't put a KB SC on it for that. Use a turbo or a centrifical(sp) SC on it.

There are no intercoolers for the KB SC. Why supercharge with no intercooler? Its a halve ass way of doing things.
