Message: If you got them to 10k you would still be paying $1000 to much, buy from private sale or at least get your own loan dont go through dealer. never tell a dealer you will be paying cash until haggling is done, make a printout of Edmuds.com book value of the truck and take it with you. you need to do at least 8 hours of research on buying from a dealer before you even step on car lot, good luck

Message: 4x4 Dak's eat ball joints for dinner. Take it to an alignment shop and have them put it on the rack and really check the ball joints. You're in for an expensive repair if they're faulty. Same goes for the tie rod ends. My lower ball joints on my 97 4x4 failed at 2500, 14,000 and 36,000 miles, then I traded it.
Also, since it's a 4x4 take it to a mechanic and have the T case checked out as well as the pinion shaft bearings. They go too. It's hard to detect abuse and/or incompetent operation of a 4x4 but have it checked out anyway. Have the diff oil front and rear checked, especially for water. Water destroys bearings and if it was drove hard and put away wet it might have contaminated diff oil.
Any s/b Mopar over 60,000 miles usually has leaky valve stem seals. Have it check for leaks. This usually shows up as puffs of blue smoke on start up and acceleration.
Spending a few bucks for a thorough inspectio now might save you thousands later.
