Message: It really depends on the following:
1.Is it a daily driver
2.do you actually go off-roading
3.If the answer to #2 is yes what type of off-road, i.e. like camping/fish or jeep jamboree like?
4. What type of mods did you do so far and are you thinking of any others?Nitrous or supercharger?
5. What type of driver are you, occasional speeder or lead foot, always @ WOT
6.Are you looking for low-end/mid rpm range pep or top-end? If you do drag race the latter is more important.
7.What size tires/gears/TQ converter you have will make or brake the performance of top-end cams.
8. Do you have to take emission tests yearly?
Basicly stock to light bolt ons(cat-back, cold air intake): 200<206 degrees at 0.50 lift-(intake)
For a more modded engine (the above plus TB, headers, PCM, 3.92 gears with <31" tires): up to about 206-208*
If you add a TQ and 4.56 gears I would go up 210-214
4.56s+head work+TQ converter+modded stock or M-1 plus above and if your looking for top-end: 214-218
Anything more than that in your type of truck I wouldn't consider a daily driver and probably fail emissions.
