Subject: M1 guys need some help here!!!! IP: Logged
Message: Alright well I had my M1 for a couple weeks now waiting for the time to install it! I have this weekend off so Imma do it! I was wondering about the install kit? I have the gaskets the bolts and the rtv sealant! What are those spacers and plugs they are talkin about! I have 2 plugs in it already(way it came) Inside where the throttle body goes and next to thermostat! I relocated the iat sensor so i know I need to plug that one! Are the spacers those shiny metal tubes surrounding where the throttle body goes??? There is five of em! Also will I be using all 3 of the brass colored nipples things on each side of the intake??? I have a 2001 R/T! Thanks!

Message: The install kit is 5 tubes (1.8" long) that are spacers for the fuel rails and the bracket that holds the AC. You need longer bolts too but you said you have `em.
I used 2 (the bigger ones) out of the 6 tubes that come out of the side of the M1. 1 on the drivers side for the brake booster and 1 on the pass. side for the PCV valve hose. I think I had to cut the PCV hose a bit. The other small ones I capped with these rubber caps I got at the local hardware.
Theres a bypass hose about 4" long and has a little kink to it on the front of the intake you have to get off. Its a bitch. You`ll see what I mean when you get that far. I just cut mine off and went and got a new one.
Make sure you plug up the intake ports in the heads when you are scraping the old gasket off. I bunched up some paper towel and crammed it in there. Lay clean rags in the lifter valley too to catch any old gasket.
And make sure you mark what bolts go where when you are dissassembling everything.
Well , thats about all I can share. Good luck.
Hope this helps.
You`ll love that M1. I know I do.

Message: alright bro thanks! I think the spacers are already on there! 3 on the drivers side of manifold and 2 on the passenger side! There is five of them right!
As for the bypass hose is there a part number or anything? Or can I get one at any auto parts store?
Yeah the bolts I have came with the gasket kit along with 2 plastic black things that kinda look like they dont do anything! Will I need these?
Thanks for the help Big torque!

Message: yea , should be 5. I dont have the part # for the bypass hose. I just took the old one to the dealer and they gave(bought) me the new one. The part # should be on it. You may be able to re-use it if you can get it off.
The 2 plastic black things I think you are talking about are the front and rear gaskets for the M1. Do they have metal in `em ? And do they have little square nubs sticking out of `em ? Not sure what you mean , but I think those are gaskets you`ll need.
The PCV is on the passenger side valve cover on my truck. I think the hose did run to the drivers side on the stock intake. I just cut it to length so it goes on the pass. side tube on the M1. The brake booster hose should go into the drivers side on the M1. I dont think you need to cut it.
Might as well get a new 180* thermostat & gasket as long as youre in there.
Anymore questions let me know. Glad to help someone. I`m always the one asking questions here.

Message: Well the black things are not the gaskets! I know that for sure! They look like little arms or something but i guess they arent needed if you dont know what they are! I already had the 180 installed! Thanks man!

Message: Make sure you trim about an 1/8 of an inch off of those spacers or the injectors wont sit in all of the way.

Message: Adam, That part number is for a carburetor manifold on a Magnum engine. Summit doesn't sell the fuel injected Magnum M-1 anymore. KRC Performance has them on sale for $375 with gaskets and Install kit.
