Subject: Tire chirping into second.. IP: Logged
Message: I know this my be juvenile and it isn't the best thing for your trans. But, I'm trying to get my Durango to do it..I've added a Transgo kit (which helped) but still no chirp! The D is a 2wd 5.9..what if I got a Torque Converter with a higher stall would that help? Also, been toying with the idea of 4.10 gears right now I only have 3.55 open diff. Suggestions? Ideas?

Message: Gears will help and so will the higher stall, your biggest enemy is weight. so time to make more power....

Message: just put some 205/75/15 tires on the back... that will do it ;-)
now more seriously, your truck weighs a lot and will take a lot to get it to do it... so how much is it worth to you to get a "chirp" out of the tires?

Message: with a real tranny and engine (4.7, 5spd), you do it anytime you want, with wide tires!

Message: wooow. you really got him...with a manual trans you can make anything chirp tires...i especially like the part about 'a real engine'...considering the 5.9 makes more power LOL
anyway, i wanted my r/t to do the same thing, so i got a trans-go, it firmed em up. also, try adjusting your kickdown cable, pull it toward the firewall for stiffer shifts, forward for soft shifts...beware once you adjust it, you make have trouble getting it back the way you had it before, at least in my experience. the rango is a lot heavier than my dak i think, but adding 40-50 more rwhp can usually help with the chirpage LOL good luck!

Message: I know it's the last thing you want to do but, bump up the settings on the TransGo kit. Mine will chirp at will regardless on how much weight I have in the bed.
Powerdyne 6#, MP Headers, Transgo shit kit, MSD/BTM ignition, MAP tweak, relocated IAT, MP PCM, "409" taylor plug wires, Keith Black Pistons, 5140 I-beam rods, polished head bowls. MONEY PIT!!
