Message: you really only need strut tower braces for unibodies. there is plenty of strength in the dak frame. but if you want more stiffness just weld in some steel tubing.

Message: a strut bar on a dak? are serious or are you asking a straght ? because if your serious, a truck does not need a strut bar, dude. the frame is strong enough. And as to oxygen theives with the dumb a$$ remarks, why dont you sit in your pos trucks with 5 gallons of gas, make sure the cap is off the tank, so you can smell the fumes, and light up smoke!! ok..

You are one load of jiz your mommy should have swallowed.

Message: Lately I've been reading quite a few smarta$$ responses on this forum, particularly from you knowitall, and I've got to say that it is getting pretty irritating. This forum is here for people to ask questions and get support in return, not some dickhead response aimed at making them feel stupid; or is it to make you feel better? Now I know that for anyone that has a fair amount of knowledge about automobiles, this persons question may sound rediculous. But for someone who may not be quite as knowledgeable, the principle of a strut tower brace may seem like an effective way to improve cornering stability. With that being said let's just be glad that this person had the guts to ask a question before buying one of those things and wasting his money on a part that wont work for a truck. Is it just me or is that the entire purpose of this forum in the first place, to get advice from people who know and to learn from eachothers mistakes? The only thing you sh!theads do when you act like an a$$ here is to make people think twice about asking a simple freakin' question. What if this person had found and installed a strut tower brace? What if he bought one of those POS electronic superchargers off of e-bay? Well he probably would have done it because he didn't want to ask about it here, and then guess what, when people saw that sh!t on his truck we would all get the same reputation for being stupida$$es. Is that want you want, to be known as the ricers of the truck community? I sure as hell don't. Now I know that you "flamers" probably don't posses much maturity and for that reason you will probably feel like you need to get the last word in... But know this: I will not lower myself to your level by replying to any of you, now that I've said my peice anyways, so you might as well not even bother with all the sh!t talking.

Message: your best bet to gain frame stiffness is to get some braces that diagonally connect and tie in the crossmembers to the frame. they shouldnt be to hard to fab up but i wish i remember the company which sells prefabbed bolt in units.

Message: hay Jay, if you are interested in getting some frame stifness, try the kenny brown frame x members. It is an x brace that connects the front and the rear section of the frame.
Bin a while since I have been on this sight, can see why.

Message: You can gain more stifness just buy adding more conventional cross members. They can simply bolt to the fram rails. The cross bar methods works best if you preload the bars! Strut bars are ok even OEM's use them on uni-bodi cars. My Grandmothers Buick Lasaber came from GM with the strut tower brace installed. With a from-on vechile they are a waste of time especialy when you have shocks not struts so tyeir are not any strut towers to mount to. The wmole strut tower brace is a poors mans way of geting around not haveing sub-frame conectors.
