 Subject: K & N FIPK for 4.7V8

I was wondering if anyone has or had any expierence with the K&N FIPK INtake KIt for the 4.7. Because I intalled it on my truck just lately. And I didn't end up installing the heatshield. I think it would be to restricting to the cold air coming in from the front end of the truck since i removed that rubber flap on the left side of the rad. So cold air gets shot right in there. Let me know what you think about having the heatshield on or off for this intake kit. Thanks.

Maybe if you just left the heat sheild on the side that is closest to the engine. I guess that would be the back of the filter. Or...you could make a custom heat sheild with a long, thin piece of aluminum extending from the front of the truck to just behind the filter...directing the cold air and blocking out all the hot air. Just an idea.
