Message: About the "Carnot engine" the article refers to:
If I'm remembering correctly, the reason the Carnot engine cannot actually exist is that it's only a theoretical model for explaining how some things work. It relies on a sealed box, a frictionless piston, and a SINGLE atom. Basically it's a box w/ an atom and a sliding wall. That atom is bouncing around hitting the walls, and when you remove the sliding wall, it can hit the piston, when it does, the piston is pushed out, at which point you can just slide the partition back (once the atom is on the correct side) and push the piston back into it's original spot.
Why they even mentioned it is beyond me.
